Dear Students, Parents, Teachers and Well-wishers.
Namaste and warm greetings to you through our very own website and user friendly e-Learning platform.
It is with immense pleasure that I introduce to you the DAV College - Suva Website. Our school has seen this as an opportune time to invest in the School Website and Moodle Development Project to assist our students on distance learning and home studies. This has become a necessity since the schools are still closed due to the pandemic and running normal classes are beyond the control of all education stakeholders. This situation will continue till a greenlight is given from the relevant Ministries especially the Ministry of Education to continue with normal classes.
Therefore with advanced technology and with the advanced skills that our current generation possess on the use of technology, we have decided to launch this project so that education delivery can continue at its best during these difficult times. With the services of 50 teachers and 6 ancillary staff members, we anticipate that the Moodle platform will benefit maximum number of students out of our 834 school roll.
Students are strongly encouraged to adopt and practice independent mode of learning to reap the maximum benefits from this initiative. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to provide the necessary support to their children/ward so that the learning process takes place successfully. The Moodle service will allow the students to access their learning resources online and will better equip them with skills to continue using the technology in their tertiary education.
I wish to sincerely thank the Principal, the Vice Principal, all the staff members and the ancillary staff for working together tirelessly in making the Website and Moodle Development Project a successful one.
My special thanks to the Chairman of the Southern District Board of Governors for his support together with the blessing from APS Fiji, the controlling authority. Also a special thanks to the Ministry of Education for the support given especially in the form of FEG to fund the project.
The founder of Arya Samaj and our school’s patron saint, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati propagated for equal opportunities in education for all, therefore the school will always strive to provide the best opportunities for quality education delivery.
As stated in the College Mission, by promoting a conducive learning environment, we create an educated society with acceptable moral, spiritual, cultural, social and human values so that people can give their best service to our country and the world. Therefore the Website and Moodle Development Project is supporting the school mission to create a better learning environment considering the current Covid situation that we are experiencing.
